Our mission is to publish high quality books which, although they may appeal to a small market, deserve to be created to honour a significant time or place in the human experience.

 

Valerie Cousins

(1948 - 2016)

Co-founder of Sanderling Press.

 

A communications consultant with over 25 years experience in corporate communications, editing, speechwriting, marketing communications strategy and implementation, Valerie worked in a consulting capacity for a number of multinational corporations and government departments including Ericsson Canada Inc., Lafarge North America, Merck Frosst, Canada Post and Foreign Affairs Canada.

 

In a volunteer capacity Valerie served on many boards including nine years for the Friends of the Central Experimental Farm in Ottawa. Under her presidency of The Friends, the best-selling book For the Love of Trees: A Guide to the Trees of Ottawa's Central Canadian Experimental Farm Arboretum was produced, raising significant awareness of and funds for this organization and for Ottawa's beautiful Arboretum.

Alison Hall

Creative Director

Alison Hall, a freelance designer since 1987, strives for clear, effective, reader-friendly design and typography that honours content. In addition to design, experience as an account executive and a production manager has resulted in a broad skill set that is well suited to projects needing turnkey solutions.

 

In addition to several book covers, Alison was the designer and production coordinator for the book For the Love of Trees: A Guide to the Trees of Ottawa's Central Canadian Experimental Farm Arboretum.
